Temple’s thoracic surgery program treats a wide variety of conditions, using a number of procedures. The Lung Center’s thoracic surgery team specializes in robotic surgeries, using cutting-edge technology to potentially reduce discomfort and recovery time following procedures. The thoracic surgery team uses traditional, robotic, and other methods, such as video-assisted thoracic surgery, in performing procedures such as:
- Chest wall reconstructions
- Lung volume reduction surgery and bullectomy
- Pulmonary resections (lobectomy, segmentectomy-wedge, pneumonectomy)
- Total robotic lung resection for malignant and benign disease
Additionally, the thoracic surgery team provides procedures for the trachea, esophagus, mediastinum, diaphragm and chest wall.
