Temple’s ILD program manages patient diagnosis and care using a multi-disciplinary approach that draws on the expertise of specialists who focus on different aspects of care, from thoracic surgeons, to radiologists and pulmonologists.
Once a diagnosis has been made by the multi-disciplinary committee, treatment begins. Temple offers the following treatments to ILD patients:
- Medications (including nintedanib and pirfenidone in patients with IPF)
- Pulmonary rehabilitation
- Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO)
- Navigational bronchoscopy and endobronchial ultrasound bronchoscopy (EBUS)
- Standard bronchoscopy with or without transbronchial biopsy
- Lung transplantation
