Jean began further treatment with Gerald J. Criner, MD, Chair and Professor of Thoracic Medicine and Surgery at Temple Lung Center. “More tests were done and Dr. Criner said a wedge needed to be cut out of my lung. It was major surgery. Jean’s cardiothoracic surgeon performed the surgery, and it was indeed cancer. Dr. Criner determined additional treatment was not needed,” Jean continues.

Then, in 2013, an infection developed in Jean’s right lung. “Dr. Criner took care of this too. I’m on antibiotics and I haven’t had a recurrence since,” she says.
